Want to help fight for affordable care in North Carolina? Join the Piedmont Rising team as we work to amplify North Carolinians' stories and demand our leaders fight for us:

Job Title: Digital Organizer

Reports To: Digital Director

About the position:

Digital Organizers will report to the Digital Director and help execute an advocacy / education campaign based around building a statewide relational organizing outreach program. Outreach will focus on targeted outreach to key persuasion universes, crowd building for our schedule of virtual events and collecting health care stories from North Carolinians to help us amplify our key messages. We are looking for someone who is eager to affect change, hard-working, and not afraid to try new strategies and tactics. We’re a fast-moving place with ambitious goals, so the right person for the job is not afraid of taking on new opportunities to move people to action and quickly responding to an ever-changing news cycle.

As a Digital Organizer you’ll:

  • Be responsible for creating and executing large volume digital organizing strategies on a daily basis and be expected to meet daily and weekly contact goals.

  • Utilize new digital tools to build relational organizing into Piedmont Rising’s advocacy efforts.

  • Script and execute Hustle text campaigns to send SMS messages to targeted universes and ensure engaging, quality conversations.

  • Draft compelling social media, email, web, and/or peer-to-peer SMS copy.

  • Work in relational organizing tools daily to work on both persuasion and story collection.

    • Persuasion: Encouraging folks to share our message with their friends and family. Start with low bar asks to share our posts on social media, build to higher asks like hosting a virtual event themselves.

    • Story collection: Contact targeted lists of North Carolinians to collect health care stories for amplification. Organizers would be expected to develop personal relationships with storytellers and regularly check in with them to encourage the likelihood that they move up the ladder of engagement.

  • Create and maintain personal relationships with people who are actively engaged with us.

  • Keep a pulse on the latest trends (including trending topics on social media platforms) and best practices for digital – and integrate them into our online organizing efforts.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About you:

  • You are hard-working and looking for an opportunity to make a difference.

  • You have an interest in non-profit work and support progressive ideals.

  • You have the ability to work remotely, including access to high-speed internet.

  • You have an eagerness to adapt to the latest trends.

  • You have a sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and an openness to evolving responsibilities.

  • You’re a big picture thinker, detail-oriented, and analytical.

In addition, it would be a bonus if:

  • You have prior experience working on a campaign or at an advocacy organization.

  • You are familiar with digital tools like Hustle, OutreachCircle, Team, Asana, etc.

  • You have experience working or living in North Carolina.

  • You are familiar with how to communicate about our issue areas.

  • You are familiar with issues important to residents.
