ACA RULING: Piedmont Rising Responds to Federal Court Ruling on ACA

Updated: Mar 2, 2020

Casey Wilkinson, Executive Director of Piedmont Rising, issued the following statement in response to today’s ruling threatening North Carolinians’ health care:

"Today's court ruling puts millions of Americans’ lives at risk.

More than 500,000 North Carolinians could lose their health care thanks to the health care repeal lawsuit that Senators Tillis and Burr support. Senator Tillis said he supports ‘anything that ultimately takes’ the Affordable Care Act ‘off the table,’ — a slap in the face to the more than 4 million North Carolinians with pre-existing conditions who are also at risk. It’s time for Senators Tillis and Burr to show they understand how high the stakes are for North Carolinians and start voting to protect quality affordable health care.”
