ALERT: Health Care Town Hall in Wilmington Postponed in Response to Coronavirus Concerns

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

**POSTPONED: 6:00 PM Health Care Town Hall in Wilmington postponed**

Wilmington, N.C. – Today, following growing public health concerns, Piedmont Rising has postponed a scheduled in-person town hall to be held in Wilmington tonight due to the declared state of emergency in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Updated event information will be made available online at piedmontrising.com

“Amidst concerns about the coronavirus, we do not feel comfortable asking our supporters - many of whom suffer from illnesses, care for vulnerable loved ones, or lack affordable health care access - to attend a group gathering,” said Piedmont Rising Executive Director Casey Wilkinson. “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience, but our first priority is the health and safety of North Carolina families.”

Piedmont Rising will reschedule the meeting at a future date.

North Carolina residents are encouraged to refer to reliable sources like the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) for the latest updates.
