BREAKING: While Pandemic Rages, Senators Tillis & Burr Push Anti-Health Care Judge

Nominee to Second-Highest Court in the Nation is Outspoken Critic of the Affordable Care Act

RALEIGH, N.C. — Piedmont Rising Executive Director Casey Wilkinson issued the following statement as the U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of 38-year-old U.S. District Judge Justin Walker to fill a lifetime appointment to the second highest court in the land:

“In the midst of a pandemic, the Senate should be laser-focused on saving lives, not on confirming a judge who would strip coverage for millions and spike health care costs. Today, Senators Thom Tillis and Richard Burr have yet again refused to protect affordable health care and instead voted to confirm Judge Walker, an anti-ACA judge who would dismantle health care protections for our most vulnerable.”
