Congressman G.K. Butterfield, Rep. Carla Cunningham, NC Advocates to Sound Alarm on Ongoing Attacks on Health Care in the Middle of a Pandemic

Advocates to Mobilize North Carolinians to Mark Three Year Anniversary of Defeating ACA Repeal in the U.S. Senate, Medicare & Medicaid 55th Birthday

Raleigh, NC – Three years ago, a bipartisan majority in the U.S. Senate gave a historic thumbs down to repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). To mark this anniversary, Congressman G.K. Butterfield, Rep. Carla Cunningham, and North Carolinians will join Piedmont Rising and Protect our Care North Carolina to discuss the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the importance of equitable access to health care, and actions North Carolinians can take to protect the Affordable Care Act.

“North Carolinians are tired of efforts to undermine their health care, especially during this unprecedented public health and economic crisis,” said Piedmont Rising Executive Director, Casey Wilkinson. “North Carolinians overwhelmingly want their lawmakers to protect and expand care, which means lowering health care and prescription drug costs and advocating for Medicaid expansion once and for all.”
