Piedmont Rising Shares Message of Solidarity

Raleigh, N.C. — Piedmont Rising Executive Director, Casey Wilkinson, released a statement on police brutality and the deaths of Black Americans that have sparked protests across the U.S., including North Carolina:

“We condemn the killings of Black Americans by law enforcement and stand in solidarity with all those working in the pursuit of justice. From criminal justice to housing to education to health care, systems in our country do not treat all Americans equally. The disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black Americans lays bare this truth. Piedmont Rising is fighting to make the health care system a more fair and just one, and we urge elected leaders to join us in this mission so that all North Carolinians can have access to the care they need.”
