TOMORROW at 6PM: Virtual Town Hall with NC Senator, US Army National Guard Captain, Jeff Jackson on Veterans Health Care During Coronavirus

Military members and advocates gather to demand Medicaid expansion and protections for the Affordable Care Act

Raleigh, N.C. – On Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. North Carolina Senator Jeff Jackson (NC-37), a current Captain in the Army National Guard, will join Piedmont Rising for a virtual health care town hall to discuss where North Carolina stands on Medicaid expansion and how the state’s refusal to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act hurts military veterans and their families.

Town hall panelists will discuss how this pandemic affects North Carolina’s most vulnerable communities, what leaders can do to increase access to care and help struggling hospitals, and how residents can urge lawmakers in North Carolina to protect health care and move to expand Medicaid in response to the public health emergency.
